Mason Archie was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. His early art experience came while working as the Art Director and pictorial artist for Lamar Outdoor Advertising, which gave him the opportunity to develop his talent everyday for over fifteen years. After resigning from Lamar, Mason started his own commercial sign company. He sold his sign company to pursue his fine art career full-time.
Mason is a member of the Hoosier Salon Patrons Association and Fine Arts Gallery, National Conference of Artist, African American Visual Artist Guild [AAVAG], and Dayton Visual Artist Group [DVAG], Dayton, Ohio. Mason is best known as a realist artist. His paintings are very life like. They are often mistaken as photos. He uses an overlaying glazing affect on majority of his work. He is currently creating a number of series that depict African-Americans during the era of his life.
Mason founded Kindred Spirits, A Gallery for Young Children[ Indianapolis, Indiana] to use his gift and talent to instill unity through art among youth. Kindred Spirits offers free art classes to youth ages 5-18. They are taught various aspects of art.
