George Hunt is an artist with an unconventional abstract view of the world. He has given over 30 years of his life to the art industry as an educator and a painter. Hunt’s works unmask the emotions of his subjects and evoke an immediate response. Hunt completed his undergraduate studies of the University of Arkansas in 1960, then went on to study with Harlem Renaissance master artist, Hale Woodruff at New York University (NYU) and John Howard at the University of Arkansas. It was in the early 1960s when Hunt perfected his cubism and collage style of painting.

Hunt has spent a great deal of time in the South. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, which is the home of the blues movement, civil rights legacies, and southern black culture, Hunt masterfully captures the essence of these cultural nuances. Hunt has received numerous awards and has exhibited in museums and galleries across the country. Collectors include National Football League Hall of Famer Jim Brown, National Basketball Association players Spud Webb and Harvey Grants, and actor/comedian T.K. Carter, just to name a few.
