Artist Insight:  This painting is about black finance in America, because we are often viewed as laborers and consumers – yet the money that passes through are hands has the power to be much more.  Within the painting you will find this strong black figure and a smaller young figure seated on a cloud. They are reminding us to pass down wealth to the next generation.  The balloon floating behind the figure, represents eternal optimism and reminds us to envision our finances as being on the rise.  The words “Finance” and “finesse” are present because we must learn how to finesse the system to achieve financial freedom.
