This limited edition bronze is a replica of the public monument “Amistad Memorial” Ed Hamilton created which was installed in New Haven CT in 1992. Amistad pays tribute to Sengbe Pieh, or Cinque, the African captive who served as leader of the Amistad Rebellion in 1839.  It’s often cited as one of the first major civil rights victories in American history.
